The scheme involves the demolition of three blocks of flats and the erection of 41 mixed tenure replacement dwellings at Milestone Road, Hitchin. Due to the needs of some of the tenants it was very difficult to empty the site completely.
With this in mind the decision was made to carry out the works in two phases. The first phase was completed in December 2008 and the scheme is currently into its second phase and is due for completion in September 2009. The total value of the scheme is £4.15m and is achieving an Eco Homes rating of “Very Good”.
