After successfully completing the refurbishment of the ground to second floor of the Grade II listed building providing high quality starter business units, a state of the art internet cafe and radio broadcast studio, the same team were appointed by the client to refurbish the dilapidated basement of the same building. The project posed many technical challenges to the team including limited access, restricted ceiling heights and water ingress problems. Through a partnering approach, these problems were resolved efficiently and amicably at an early stage in the design process. The refurbishment of the basement will provide a further 7 high quality starter business units with an attractive communal atrium area in an existing rear light well. The project is due for completion in February '07.
