Robert Lombardelli Partnership are currently working with Horsley Huber Architects and the ongoing Emanuel School project team on another project at Emanuel School.
Located in Wandsworth, South London, Emanuel School is situated on a 12 acre site. Surrounded by landscape grounds, the main Victorian building houses a chapel, concert hall and drama studio. RLP together with the ongoing project team, have successfully completed a number of other projects at the school which have included the extension of the existing theatre and a refectory extension.
The Dacre project involves the demolition of the existing standalone Dacre block and the construction of a new three storey classroom block which will provide linked access to existing buildings at the school. The new buildings will house additional classrooms including music and art classrooms and will also incorporate an art exhibition space and film studio. The works involve the construction of a concrete framed structure on piled foundations. The close proximity of the existing building and the neighbouring railway line will make this a complex and challenging project.
Works are planned for summer 2015 start on site with anticipated construction costs of approximately £5.5 million.
