A residential development completed in July 2011 for North Hertfordshire Homes. The scheme comprised the demolition of 24 existing dwellings and the erection of 34 replacement dwellings at Elmtree Avenue, Cockernhoe. The construction works were carried out in four phases as the tenants remained in situ being re-housed on a rolling programme, in order to minimise disturbance and avoid the need for residents to move twice.
As part of the scheme NHH also proposed to replace the existing village hall in Mangrove Road as part of the section 106 contribution to the community. The existing village hall had been closed for sometime as it was structurally unsound. The replacement hall has provided improved facilities for the residents of Elmtree Avenue, Mangrove Road, other residents of Cockernhoe as well as the wider community.
The value of the scheme is £4.25m
