Robert Lombardelli Partnership were appointed by BPHA and The Papworth Trust to design an affordable residential development scheme on the site of the old Downlands Day Centre.

The scheme consisted of six general family houses for rent, constructed for BPHA, together with six bungalows specifically designed for severely disabled residents for The Papworth Trust. Two bungalows were for shared living the other three were individual two bedroom bungalows. Each bungalow was designed with fully equipped and specially adapted kitchens, bathrooms and hoists for use by the disabled residents.

RLP carried out the full project design, including reviewing planning permission and then successfully carried out full working drawings and site supervision in partnership with Relmfield Builders as part of a Design and Build contract.
